Washington State Department of Transportation decided to use roundabouts for the Smith and Nugents Corner intersections.

Based engineering and analysis, and the comments received, WSDOT believes that roundabouts at both intersections are the best way to improve safety for the approximately 13,000 drivers who travel this road daily.

There will be an open house in the fall to show you how designs are coming along. This is a good opportunity to see how they lay out on the highway and nearby properties.
