New Border Cameras to help you see if there are delays

The Washington State Department of Transportation has 10 new cameras pointed towards the border.

There are now cameras on all four border crossings. There were cameras on the Guide Meridian; now there are two. There are eight cameras on I-5, four on the truck crossing and one on SR 9.

Coming in the near future, hopefully by April, are wait times for all four crossings. All the electronics have been installed in the highways making it possible to provide this information. We`re just waiting for our engineers to finish connecting the wires to our system so we can get the information to you via the Web and roadside signs and radios.

February 29, 2008 WSDOT Highway Updates for Whatcom County

A visit to the WSDOT Canadian Border Traffic Page does offer many cameras however this release mentions cameras that so far I have been unable to find. It may be they released this information before updating the page or the camera links were not placed in a user friendly way. I will continiue to monitor the border camera page to watch for updates.
