Bellingham Road closures and restrictions September 8-12

The Bellingham Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week September 8-12, 2008 to accommodate construction.

Northshore Drive

Interwest Construction, Inc., under a contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue work installing storm water facilities, sidewalks, and bike lanes, plus a new pavement overlay on Northshore Drive between Alabama Street and Britton Road. Traffic will be diverted by flaggers or detoured around the work between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. Drivers may experience significant delays and are encouraged to use Barkley Boulevard as an alternate route until further notice. Barkley Boulevard

Tiger Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue work to expand and upgrade the storm water detention pond located off Barkley Boulevard just west of Northridge Way. Traffic may be disrupted as large trucks enter and exit the site. Bay/Holly/Prospect

Tiger Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be removing sidewalks, streetlights and excavating for new storm water pipes at the intersection of Bay Street, Holly Street and Prospect Street. Bay Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during most of the project, however, there will be pedestrian access to all businesses at all times.
