The Bellingham Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week October 20-24, 2008, to accommodate construction.

Bakerview/Irongate

Granite Northwest, Inc., under contract with the City of Bellingham, will begin installing a traffic signal at the intersection of E. Bakerview Road and Irongate Road. Drivers should expect delays as traffic is directed to a single lane during work hours to accommodate this work. Sunset Drive (SR542)

Ram Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue construction on Sunset Drive from Woburn Street to McLeod Road. Traffic will be disrupted between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm as large trucks enter and exit the site and flaggers direct traffic to a single lane. N. Forest Street - F and Holly Street - Electric Avenue

Insituform Technologies, subcontractor to Ram Construction, who is under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be installing cured-in-place sanitary sewer lining along various streets over the next week. Drivers will be required to navigate around a box van working in the far right lane and are advised to use extreme caution. Bay/Holly/Prospect

Tiger Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be removing sidewalks, streetlights and excavating for new storm water pipes at the intersection of Bay Street, Holly Street and Prospect Street. Bay Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during most of the project, however, there will be pedestrian access to all businesses at all times. Victor Street and Grant Street

Weather permitting, Kamps Painting, subcontractor to Larry Brown Construction, who is under a contract with the City of Bellingham, will be installing the pavement markings for the new traffic calming facilities on Victor Street between Meridian Street and Northwest Avenue and on Grant Street between Alabama Street and Virginia Street. Intermittent lane closures will cause minor traffic delays.
