Bellingham Road closures and restrictions November 17-21

The Bellingham Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week November 17-21, 2008, to accommodate construction.

Sunset Drive (SR542)

Ram Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will continue construction on Sunset Drive from Woburn Street to McLeod Road. This week work will include storm system upgrades which will require Sunset to be closed  Wednesday night, November 19, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next morning, to install a 24' x 125' stormwater vault on the north side of Sunset near the St. Clair Street right-of-way.  Drivers will  be directed around the work via Woburn Street, Barkley Boulevard, Chandler Way, and McLeod Road to and from Mt. Bakerview/Irongate

Granite Northwest, Inc., under contract with the City of Bellingham, is installing a traffic signal project at the intersection of E. Bakerview Road and Irongate Road. Work has been temporarily delayed due to weather. Once work resumes, drivers should expect delays when traveling through this intersection. Bay/Holly/Prospect

Tiger Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be installing sidewalks and working on new pavers and art features at the intersection of Bay Street, Holly Street and Prospect Street. Bay Street will be closed to vehicle traffic, however, there will be pedestrian access to all businesses at all times.
