Location: 100 BLK E HOLLY ST Offense: CROWD CONTROL Case #: 08B43698 A large crowd of citizens, approximately 1000, conducted a celebratory march in response to President Obama being elected. The crowd marched from WWU campus through the streets of downtown and returned to campus. A short time later the crowd, reduced to about 500, conducted another prolonged march through downtown streets stopping at rally points along the way. The celebration march started shortly before 9 p.m. and ended shortly after midnight. Several officers were committed to the task of assuring that the crowd was able to safely conduct their celebration. This was an unscheduled event that was conducted without proper permits, however, the crowd was cooperative. Several people involved in the march conveyed their appreciation for law enforcement measures to assure their safety as they expressed themselves.
