Officers responded to Fred Meyer on a report of a suspicious circumstance. A citizen reported that a small child was placed in the trunk of a car and the car left the parking lot. Officers located the car blocks away and learned that this was just a joke. Through investigation it was learned that the car only moved a parking space with the child in the trunk. It was further learned that the everyone was alright and the child was a willing participant in the prank. We discussed the dangers of these types of actions and how alarming this may be to citizens in the area. The driver was cited for having a suspended license and no proof of insurance.

(C1) did not know that he was in the Bellingham City limits and therefore was in a NO Shooting Zone. He had been target practicing with his kids with a 22 rifle shooting into a 12' high dirt berm. He was advised of the City of Bellingham ordinance that he was violating.
