Officers responded to the parking lot of Costco where a man and his family found a suspect prowling their car. The suspect brandished a knife and lunged toward the man while trying to escape. An accomplice of the suspect approached and also brandished a knife while the man tried to detain the first suspect. Both suspects were able to flee the area in a car, but were stopped by officers southbound on I-5 at Old Fairhaven Parkway. The two suspects were arrested for Felony Assault, and the first suspect additionally for Vehicle Prowl, Malicious Mischief, Attempted Theft, Driving While Suspended and Providing False Information (lying about his identity) to Officers. Nobody was injured in the incident. The suspects are Mount Vernon, WA residents.
